Lancaster Castle is open daily from 09.30 am to 5.00 pm. Visitors can enjoy the courtyard spaces, external views of the historic building and the cafe run by local baristas and coffee roasters Atkinsons without charge, but public access to the interiors of the castle buildings is by guided tour only.

We are open 7 days a week (except over the Christmas/ New Year period) from 9.30am to 5.00pm, with guided tours running throughout the day. In winter tours normally operate from 10.30am to 3.15pm on weekdays and between 10.00am and 4.00pm on weekends. Tour times do however vary and are subject to change.
