Does attacking a face-down monster count as a flip summon?
Flip Summon is simultaneously regarded as both a Summon and Battle position change. A face-down monster flipped into face-up Attack Position by a card effect such as “Book of Taiyou” or “Ancient Forest” is not considered a Flip Summon. Flip Summon does not take up your Normal Summon/Set for the turn.
Can you summon a monster in face-down attack?
It’s important to remember that a monster Set on the field in face-down Defense Position IS NOT considered Summoned. It has been Set and can be Summoned with a Flip Summon or flipped face-up by an attack or card effect.
What counts as flip summon?
A Flip Summon (Reverse Summon in the OCG) occurs when you flip a face-down Defense Position monster into face-up Attack Position. Flip Summons are not considered Normal Summons or Special Summons. A player can Flip Summon as many times as he/she wishes to, as long as he/she has the ability to do so.
Can you flip a monster face-down?
Face-down cards on the field can be flipped face-up. (Flip Summon for monster and Activation for Spell/Trap cards, in general cases) However, face-up cards cannot be Flipped face-down, unless an effect specifically states so.
Can you target a face down monster Yugioh?
You cannot target face-down cards (on either side of the field) for effects, except if they only say “Target 1 card”, “Target 2 monsters”, “Target 3 Defense Position monsters”, “Target 4 Spell/Trap Cards”, “Target 5 face-down Spell/Trap Cards”, etc.
Is setting a monster a normal summon?
Remember, you can only Normal Summon OR Set once per turn, so if you Set a monster you cannot Normal Summon a monster that turn. (Note: you cannot play a monster from your hand onto the field in face-up Defense Position.)
Does flipping a monster face down negate its effect?
Assault Revival: When an “/Assault Mode” monster is Special Summoned by “Assault Revival”, if it is flipped face-down by “Book of Moon” etc, the effect of “Assault Revival” is no longer applied. The monster does not have its effects negated, can be Tributed, and is not removed from play when it leaves the field.
